Yes, you can fix flat notes, and totally change the key of the melody, with ease and grace on Melodyne 5 which is hands down one of the best pitch shifter VST plugins of all time. Heck, you can even improve your bends and make a half-bend to a full semitone with perfect pitch intonation. Melodyne 5 offers tons of articulation possibilities for tweaking guitar solos such as vibrato, slides, to name a few. Melodyne 5 analyses your audio recording and lines it up into easy notes for you to edit through on its pitch map. One of the most popular plugins on the market, Melodyne 5 is the quintessential pitch shifter VST that any budding music producer must hace in their arsenal. If you are into progressive rock or metal, Micropitch is definitely worth a gander. What’s more, Micropitch can also achieve quirky abrupt pitch dives, euphoric chorus effects and deep haunting echoes for the perfect avant-garde feel. MicroPitch is a fine-resolution pitch shifter If you are looking for a plugin that can subtly fatten guitar tone, add delay layers with slapback, then Micropitch is worth its weight in gold.Īn digital emulation of an effect pioneered by Eventide in the 1970s, Micropitch allows you to mix in detuned and delayed versions of your source guitar tracks (thereby doubling layers) and creating a stereo depth not heard or imagined before. 5) MHarmonizer MB 5+ Best Pitch Shifter VST for Guitar 2022 1) Micropitch.5+ Best Pitch Shifter VST for Guitar 2022.Not an elegant nor economical solution, but it should work, and after all, Cubase’s Note Expression feature already supports this as well.īesides, various sound generators already have explicit MPE support, which make the setup more simple and (hopefully) less expensive in terms of resources, e.g., see That list includes already EastWest Play. While there seem to be very few instruments/libraries out there that support note expressions, all instruments/libraries effectively support MPE already: you would simply have to allocate multiple copies of an instrument/instance with different MIDI channels to the same part (as many copies and MIDI channels as notes should be modulated independently per part). Microtonal-Play-5.0.4_ (277 KB)Īlternatively/additionally, are there perhaps plans for Dorico to support MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE, MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) Specification Adopted! - ) as an alternative to VST 3.5 with note expressions for microtonal playback at some later stage? Feel free to use that as a template for further tests, and then simply change the respective plugin in play mode. PS: Attached is an extremely simple Dorico file demonstrating that EastWest Play does not work (if you have that installed). Any luck with that? If so, with which VSL software/instruments?Īny other libraries/plugins beyond Steinberg products like HALion, where microtonal playback works? Steinberg lists Vienna Symphonic Library as VST3-ready ( ). I only tested it with the classic EWQLSO – perhaps it depends on the libraries in question and note expressions work for other EastWest libraries? Alternatively, did anyone have a chance to test EastWest Play version 6? Unfortunately, microtonal playback does not seem to work with that (it loads fine and plays, and shows in the about dialogue that it is a VST3 plugin, but seemingly does not support note expressions, i.e. I would find it very useful to collect a list of those libraries/plugins with which this works.įor example, I just tested the VST3 of EastWest Play (v 5.0.4). It is great to see (hear!) the microtonal playback in Dorico via VST3 note expressions.
